In a bittersweet twist, the style house I have been proud to call myself an assistant to, The Fabric Lab, will be closing their doors January 1st. To celebrate the fabulously talented fashion and art community, which has been cultivated carefully by owners Tran and Josh Wills, a Last Hurrah will be thrown. Next Saturday, November 14th at Mod Livin’ (5327 East Colfax) the Fabric Lab’s store closing reception will begin with “cocktails, hugs, hi fives and goodbyes” at 7pm and end with a “we blow your fucking minds fashion show” at 9pm. If you like fashion, this is THE PLACE to pick out your newest conversation pieces.
And for you cyclists out there, I talked to Broox at XRTS, he will be leading a Loops ride out to the show.
I am sad to see the Fabric Lab go, but all good things must come to an end and this will spawn the new beginning of something equally magnificent. Tran and Josh, you have done wonderful things for the cycling, art, and fashion communities of Denver. I wish you the best with your beautiful family and all that lies ahead in your bright futures. Thank you.

Unfortunately, due to the BLIZZARD Bikes Rock tonight at Beta has been cancelled.
Everything else for the Bicycle Film Festival is still a go!
Tomorrow night we have the opening of Joyride, the traveling art show inspired by the bicycle, which is sure to be jaw dropping. Aside from the fantastic local/national/international artists, there will be live painting, booze and music from DJ Soup. Sure to be a crowd pleaser, so invite your friends and RIDE!
But the FILMS are really the prize jewel of the festival. All are at Starz FilmCenter at the Tivoli, are around and hour and a half per screening and will be awesome.
Where Are You Go is a great film about a bike tour from Cairo to Cape Town, sure to be inspirational. It will be screening on Friday at 7pm, here is the trailer:
At 9pm on Friday, we have the BEST OF THE BFF Screening, a little bit of everything: Animation, bike racing, polo, drama, BMX and more.
Saturday is jam packed with four screenings, with something for every kind of rider. The mountain bike screening is at 3pm, BMX screening is at 5pm, the racing screening with the film Road To Roubaix at 7pm and finally, the Urban Bike Shorts screening with Halloween themed films like Night of the Living Bicycle and The Warriors: The Bike Race. All are sure to put a smile on your face and will make you want to ride your bike!
More details and all tickets are on sale now at http://bicyclefilmfestival.com
If you’re out there on your bike, please RIDE SAFE!
Love, Little Miss Hurricane

With a cold creeping up on me I’m a little frightened to think of what this weekend has in store for me. May I have a life double, please? Someone to take my place?
Saturday, October 24th. I’ve seen that date on too many fliers.
The day begins as the sun rises, waiting in line at VeloSwap. This is a don’t miss for sure, the largest consumer bicycle show EVA. Doors open at 9am, get there EARLY!

Then we have a yoga for cyclists workshop at Breathe right when you’re ready to get out of that headache of a convention center. The two hour yoga workshop kicks off at 1pm. Bring your bike and Eric of Speed Cat Cycles will make sure it fits just right.

Next stop! Art by Craft Market at The Other Side Arts. Craft vendors and demos, oh my! Wraps up at 8pm on Platte St. and 16th.

I’m sure there’s some show or party that’s going to pop up on that list soon. I have a feeling with this sniffle I’ll be done after this loaded day.

Vivian Meier’s photography of Chicago from 1950- 1970. This is so nostalgic for me. I miss home.
